International Yoga Day 2018: Career options for 10+2 graduates in the avenue of Yoga


As the whole nation celebrates the occasion of International Yoga Day 2018 today, here are some of the ways Indian students can pursue a career in the avenue of Yoga, carrying forward with the legacy and conserving the heritage created by our ancestors.

The practice of Yoga, originated in ancient India, is recognised all over the world contemporarily. It can be dated back to as old as sixth and fifth centuries BC and is an art as well as a science of healthy living.  On December 11 in 2014, the UN General Assembly had declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day, following a request from PM Narendra Modi. Ever since, the day is celebrated each year. As the whole nation celebrates the occasion of International Yoga Day 2018 today, here are some of the ways Indian students can pursue a career in the avenue of Yoga, carrying forward with the legacy and conserving the heritage created by our ancestors.
10+2 graduates can go for the degree course in Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences. This programme offered under the Ministry of AYUSH - Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy, is of 5 and half a year duration inclusive of 1-year rotatory internship programme. Given below is a list of BNYS colleges and other institutes approved by the concerned Ministry to conduct courses in Yoga.
