The UPSC Civil Services Prelims Result 2018 is expected to be announced today, July 10. The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) will release the result on its official website, the link for which is upsc.gov.in
The UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2018 was held on June 3 at 73 exam centres across India. Further, approximately 3 lakh candidates appeared for the UPSC Prelims Exam 2018.

  • Go to the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in
  • Then, click on 'UPSC Civil Services Prelims Result 2018'
  • Enter your roll number/date of birth/registration number in the space provided
  • Click to submit
  • Results will be displayed on the screen
  • Download the same and take print of it for future use.

About UPSC Civil Services exam:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the prestigious civil services examination for recruiting candidates into prestigious posts in the administration including IAS, IRS, IPS, IFS etc.
UPSC is an organisation that works under the government of India to recruit staff for various posts in various ministries and departments and in subordinate offices.

Structure of the Civil Service Examination:

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) comprises of two successive stages:
  • Civil Services (Preliminary) examination
  • Civil Services (Main) examination (written and interview)

UPSC Civil Services Mains 2018:

Meanwhile, UPSC has also released the Civil Services Main Exam 2018 timetable on it official website. As per the schedule, the UPSC Mains will be held from September 28 to October 7, 2018.
Timings of the exam:
  • Forenoon Session: 9 am to 12 noon
  • Afternoon Session: 2 pm to 5 pm

Cut-off marks:

Broadly speaking, the level of difficulty has increased, and this will influence the cut-off marks as well. There could be some 2-3 points drop from 105.3 marks, which was the cut-off for Prelims 2017, but it is difficult to say as there are some questions in Paper-I where many answer keys could be wrong.
